Q: Can we visit WHY Ranch?

A: We currently do not have our own ranch facility. However, you can arrange to visit our host facilities during our Diamonds in the Rough sessions. Please call or email us to set up a time to visit.

Q: Is WHY Ranch a residential facility?

A: No. Our program is held on Saturdays at two separate host facilities and is not a residential program.

Q: Are you relocating to a new ranch site?

A: Yes! If you have a property that is suitable for our program or would like to help us reach our Capital Campaign goal in order to purchase a property, we would love to speak with you! Due to neighborhood opposition at our current location we are not able to utilize a property gifted to WHY Ranch in 2007. Therefore that property is in the process of being returned to the gifting foundation and we are looking for a new permanent home for WHY Ranch. However, we are not letting this situation keep us from starting our Diamonds in the Rough program at our two partner facilities.

Q: Where do you offer your Diamonds in the Rough Program?

A: Our commitment to our vision of changing children’s lives through our program remains strong. To demonstrate our passion for our Diamonds in the Rough program, we sought and found two partner facilities, Cowboy Trail Rides and Four Views Equestrian, from which to operate our program on a smaller scale until relocation is possible. Currently we have 22 students in this life changing program for the 2011/2012 program year.

Q: How can I request Amy to speak to our group?

A: You can call the Ranch office (702) 644-9177 and speak with one of our helpful staff to schedule a speaker for your group or meeting. Amy enjoys sharing about WHY Ranch and often brings a student and parent to share their life-changing experience in our Diamonds in the Rough program.

Q: Can I donate my tack and/or horse equipment?

A: Yes! God provides and we have most of what we need in regard to tack. However, we’re always on the lookout for something that will make our little tack room complete. Please contact our office to see if we are able to accept your donation and arrange a time to deliver it with the “In-kind” Donation Form. We also want donors to be aware that if we are unable to use tack, we will find a good home for it or sell it to raise funds for the ranch. Many individuals may prefer to sell tack themselves and donate part of the proceeds to the ranch – we will gladly accept that also.

Q: Can I donate my horse to the ranch?

A: We have accepted horses from different types of situations in the past. However, since we do not have our own facility and use a host facility and their horses we ask that you contact us regarding your donation. Before we accept any horse it must be in good health and suitable for a child’s riding program such as our Diamonds in the Rough. Because of this, we are selective in the horses we accept as donations. The ranch is rarely able to accept horses with limitations due to age, behavior problems, or soundness. If you are looking for a home for your horse, visit our Contact Us Page to let us know. We will put the word out to our connections in the community. Please continue your search as well.
