Fill a Saddle Campaign

 

Thanks to a Challenge Grant from the Paul E. and Helen S. Meyer Foundation, we are able to offer this exciting campaign to help sponsor the 22 children in our Diamonds in the Rough program. This grant offers a dollar for dollar match of each investment of $4,000 (the cost per student in our program). As a sponsor you enable WHY Ranch to place two children in two saddles for the 2011-2012 Diamonds in the Rough season.

Your investment will impact the life of one of Clark County’s future leaders. As students participate in the Diamonds in the Rough program, they learn that they have value, that they can make a difference and that they can receive and turn around and give back in a meaningful way. These valuable life lessons translate into every area of the students’ lives.

WHY Ranch’s program sessions began in October with 30 openings and we celebrated our kickoff with 23 children (one dropped out)! We hope to see this number grow as we expand in 2012.

Quick facts about WHY Ranch and our Diamonds in the Rough program:

  1. Clark County has no other program like Diamonds in the Rough, which takes underprivileged children ages 8-17 and offers them an inspirational non-urban setting where healing takes place by that magical connection with a horse.
  2. WHY Ranch offers the program at two partner facilities due to not having a ranch home of their own. The two partner facilities offer the location and the horses along with the trainers.
  3. WHY Ranch interviews and selects the students and brings the program with them to the partner locations.
  4. WHY Ranch is in a Capital Campaign to raise the money required to purchase a ranch property, find suitable horses for a children’s program, staff the program and sustain operations for two years.
